Gomer sways from side-to-side when he is begging for food. It looks like he is performing a comical dance! He eats almost anything but especially likes apples, carrots, and lettuce. You can spot him by his darker, fluffier coat. He is also a bit shorter than CJ, our other camel.
Gomer was born at a farm in Colorado. He came to the petting zoo in 2008 at the age of 3. Gomer was sent to Georgia for a month of camel school, where he received training to do camel rides. Since his training, Gomer has given rides to thousands of people at the Creation Museum. When he gives rides, he wears a blue saddle and blanket. Gomer is one of the most popular animals in the petting zoo.
The zoo keepers call him the “King” of the petting zoo.
